The Invitation

Three days in the pines, learning to see wonder again.

Awe โ€” the feeling under old trees, inside a song, in someone's unexpected kindness โ€” is one of the most studied emotions in neuroscience, because it quiets the brain's inner critic and lets your nervous system finally exhale. It's also a practice. And for three days before the holidays sweep you up โ€” fog lifting off the pond, wind moving through the pines, candlelight down a long table โ€” twelve of us will practice it on purpose.

Awe is the doorway. Joy is the way home.

The Practice

Arrive. Witness. Embody.

Arrive

Phones down, shoulders down โ€” breathwork, grounding, and the first walk into the pines.

Witness

Guided practices for noticing the wonder that's already here.

Embody

Leave with small, repeatable anchors โ€” a rhythm you can return to for life.

The Setting

Two houses. One pond. Nothing but pines for miles.

A practice house for movement and stillness, a gathering house for long dinners and laughter โ€” plus hot tubs, fire pits, a pickleball court, and plenty of quiet corners to be gloriously alone.

A Day in the Woods

Slow mornings. Full hearts.

Morning

Coffee on the deck, gentle movement, unhurried breakfast.

Midday

The day's wonder โ€” an awe walk or guided hike โ€” then free time, played your way: pickleball, hot tub, hammock, nap.

Evening

Long dinners, then firelight: circle, story, stars.

Every session is an invitation, never a requirement.

The Sound Bath

One night, the woods start singing.

Master yoga teacher Jean Marie Wilbert leads a fireside sound bath under the November stars โ€” crystal bowls, crackling fire, an hour of resonance you feel in your ribs. It's the night nobody stops talking about.

The Table

You will eat very, very well.

Every meal is taken care of โ€” and Saturday is Chef Night: a private dinner by Chef Michael Mansfield, whose kitchen resume runs through The French Laundry. Come hungry. Dietary needs welcome.

Every room includes: 3 nights on the estate  ยท  all meals  ยท  Saturday's Chef Night  ยท  every session  ยท  the guided hike  ยท  the fireside sound bath

Just get yourself to Broken Bow โ€” an easy 3-hour drive from DFW. We'll help with carpools.
